Project Overview:

The Erbil Dairy Farm is a large-scale agricultural facility designed to accommodate 500 dairy cows, ensuring efficient milk production while prioritizing animal welfare and operational functionality. Spanning a total land area of 75,000 m², the facility includes 9,125 m² of constructed space, comprising various specialized zones for different operational needs.

The farm incorporates essential structures such as an administrative building, security building, and mechanical building. Additionally, the facility features a milking parlor, open and closed barns, sections designated for different stages of calving, feed storage areas, manure storage zones, and a quarantine section for the monitoring and treatment of sick animals. A perimeter service road provides seamless access and control throughout the entire facility.

Role:

I was responsible for the conceptual and schematic design phases, including spatial planning, 3D modeling, and technical decision-making. Using Revit, I developed the digital model, created the concept site and floor plans, and conducted preliminary budget and cost analyses (BOQ and cost estimation).

Animal Welfare Considerations: The farm design incorporates specialized spaces for different stages of calving, as well as a quarantine area to ensure proper health management.

Integrated Infrastructure: Essential service buildings and storage zones are strategically placed to facilitate smooth operations and ease of access.

Efficient Transportation and Control: A continuous service road encircles the facility, enabling effortless movement and oversight of farm activities.

Comprehensive Planning: The use of Revit enabled detailed modeling, coordination, and cost estimation, contributing to an optimized and well-planned agricultural development.

This project represents a balance between high-capacity dairy farming and efficient, well-structured agricultural facility design, supporting sustainable milk production in Erbil.
