BUCA-UCYOL METRO LINE PROJECT

Izmir, Turkey

(Designed & Coordinated at Prota Engineering)

Project Overview:

The Buca-Üçyol Metro Line is a fully independent metro line project in İzmir, spanning a total of 20.7 km, including 13.4 km of main line (9.6 km double line and 3.8 km return line) and 7.3 km of warehouse connection line. The project includes 11 stations, with a total cut-and-cover excavation volume of 825,950.53 m³. Most stations are partially underground. The scope also includes the design of the warehouse area and buildings for the metro system.

Role:

As the Architectural Coordinator, I managed the teams responsible for the architectural and interior design of the stations. My responsibilities included ensuring seamless coordination with other disciplines such as structural, electrical, mechanical, and alignment teams.

Project Goals and Achievements:

The objective was to prepare preliminary, detailed, and construction projects, along with tender dossiers, within the allocated budget and timeline. This goal was successfully achieved, with all required designs, detailed documentation, and tender files finalized and delivered on schedule for the construction phase.

Methodology and Tools:

The project was designed and modeled using Revit, enabling precise quantity takeoffs and effective interdisciplinary coordination. Comprehensive project documentation and drawings were prepared to meet the requirements for both the construction tender process and subsequent implementation phase.
