NAKHCHIVAN MILITARY HOSPITAL

NAKHCHIVAN, NAKHCHIVAN

(Designed & Coordinated at Gemiqaya Holding)

Project Overview

Designed to accommodate a wide range of specialized medical services, the Nakhchivan Military Hospital is a five-story facility covering a total construction area of 29,000m², with each floor spanning 5,700m². The hospital is structured to house multiple departments, including surgery, trauma care, cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, intensive care, radiology, and various diagnostic and rehabilitation units.

The planning process began with an extensive needs analysis, using Excel to calculate space requirements for approximately 800 rooms. Departments were strategically arranged based on functional relationships, ensuring efficiency in operations and patient flow. The final layout places interconnected medical units within adjacent blocks, optimizing accessibility while maintaining clear zoning.

The architectural design follows an organic branching form, splitting from a central core into two primary wings, which then extend further into parallel blocks. This configuration maximizes natural light penetration and ensures optimal ventilation throughout the building.
